2022 ICCA: “IGORS THEME/JAIL”

Every year, we showcase our best arrangements at the icca.

The ICCA is an international a cappella competition, founded in 1996. In this arena, a cappella groups are judged on vocal and visual aspects of a 12-minute performance. In the past few years, the Ransom Notes has advanced to the ICCA Finals and Semifinals several times and won multiple awards for Best Arrangement, Best Vocal Percussion, and Best Soloist.

ICCA 2021: “Better”

The coronavirus pandemic meant that in-person rehearsals were out of the question, and many of our members were spread across the globe. In spite of these challenges, we continued rehearsing over Zoom, focusing on individual voices and our visual performance. Furthermore, we produced 6 Zoom music videos, which helped us to win the Creativity in Difficult Times award, the Summer Breeze challenge, and allowed us to reach ICCA Finals.

Quarantine didn’t stop us from singing together.

oops!… I did it again

we perform live for events on and off campus.

Performing for our community is often the most rewarding part of our experience. In the past few years, we have performed at UChicago Medicine events such as the Heart Transplant Gala in February. We have also sung for the Science Olympiad at UChicago, and during our yearly winter and spring tours, we lead a cappella workshops at high schools across the country.
